Design & Construct is a project delivery system that generally uses a single entity known as a “design-builder”. Rather than engaging an architect or building designer first and then approaching a builder with pre-designed house plans, design + construct means the entire build is overseen by one party. Without a doubt the biggest issue with the 'traditional' process of engaging an Architect first and Builder second is that your budget is not thought about until the design is put in front of the builder.
